We couldn't win both games in this pivotal weekend of the season could we? You bet we could. Batting first on a spongy tricky wicket Chadders and Carter dug in after Drysdale's rare duck making 48 and 66 respectively, and those gritty and skilful innings were the difference between the two teams. Less said about Joe's lbw the better methinks. Shahzada Khan is some bowler let me tell you, making Toby Booth's battling 60 worth it's weight in gold, Khan had a fine 4 for 52, but 233 is a mighty fine total on Shepley's broad pastures and seaming track.
Shepley simply never got going with their reply, as Bruiser Brook gorrit going lovely bowling to five slips and snaring a fabulous 4 for 38 in his 15 over spell. Boult weaved his tantalising web for another three victims, as Shepley faded away without much of a fight to 124 all out in the 33rd over Sadly and not for the first time at Shepley it all became a bit fractious as the wickets tumbled, and refusing to get drinks for your visitors (Coddy had to bring them out eventually) reflects poorly on any club, not that I've ever seen such a thing happen in 40 years of cricket
