Scholes Cricket Club First Team v Barkisland on Sat 13 Jun 2015 at 13:00
Scholes Cricket Club Won 6 Points

Match report Scholes (260 for 6) beat Barkisland (161 all out) by 99 runs 40 over match
Let's face it, any cricket on Saturday was a huge bonus after the cataclysmic weather forecast, which resulted in half of the Huddersfield League getting pissed on Friday night with no prospect of play. To get almost a full day in was a huge bonus...as was yet another 6 point win in this increasingly exciting season.
During the week Jonno Boult had asked if we'd like him to play a few games while he was on holiday visiting his mates Tommy Cockles et al...errr an off spinning all rounder with the second best bowling stats in New Zealand first class T20 last season, brother of Trent and bloody good drinker too....phew tough decision that one! What was a tough decision was who would have to drop down to the Seconds from a settled First XI - rest assured Tommy Cockles we all know you'll be back in the First team in no time, and it was a decision not made lightly my friend.
We were inserted by Barkisland and Drysdale soon settled back into his accustomed role of opener, rock steady while everyone else played their shots. Chadders made a rapid 34 before one too many reverse sweep, Carter 21 and debutant Jonno Boult had a look and then launched three clean sixes in his 46 as we accelerated smoothly to a splendid 260 off only 40 overs. Pete Drysdale reached his ton with a six onto the scoreboard roof - a cracking knock. Matthew Steers was as impressive as ever with his wily off spin and although leg spinning youngster Williams went for damage he also sent down some real beauties.
Despite the best efforts of Kiwi Seifert who made a fine 70, Barkisland were never in it as Josh (Three for) Brook did it again, and Boult's variety and skill brought him 6 for 60, which he would admit slightly flattered him, but what a debut Jonno, as Barkisland slumped to 161 all out in the 38th over.
Sunday's rained off Sykes Cup quarter final at Meltham will be played next Sunday
The Second XI also enjoyed themselves, slaughtering a sorry Shelley on Saturday and besting Birkby Rose Hill by 9 wickets in the miserable mizzle on Sunday to reach yet another Paddock Shield semi-final. Photo of their fab scoreboard posted - lets get one folks!!
