Match report Another defeat to Scholes 3rds....

A red hot day at Skelmanthrope meant it was a good toss to win, and i didn't do it. Joe Hinchliffe decided his team would bat first, and make first use of the track they did very well. Good knocks from ex-scholes player M.Wimpenny (47) and Alderson (50) started the innings off well taking the score to around 100. Both were dismissed close together, however Ryan Jagger (75*) took over and batted very sensibly with the rest of his team struggling to score at the other end. We managed to restrict Skelmanthorpe to 232 when they were once looking like getting 270 and beyond, some great fight was shown.

It was a decent enough wicket so we fancied ourselves to get close. Things started promisingly, we were 24-0 from 4 overs. However the rot set in after i was dismissed, bowled round the legs by Joe Hinchliffe. Wickets fell and fell and fell, only Craig Marsh can have some credit with a few healthy blows at the end - we were bowled out for 135.

A very disappointing batting performance on a track that was good enough to give us a chance of getting very near if not knocking off there total of 135. A day to forget really, we'l have to have a beer, forget about it and make sure we win our next game...
