Match report What a shame as the First XI saved their worst performance of the season for the visit of struggling Meltham, who richly deserved their unexpected triumph.
Meltham's attack was distinctly useful as Minhas barely bowled a bad ball youngster Clegg was a handful, and Netherlands international Kashif looked a proper spinner. An unperturbed Leonard and hyper active Chadwick did brilliantly to get us up to 160 from 60 for 4, but with 10 overs to go the red mist descended, wickets were thrown away and not getting up to 200 was simply a crime.
Meltham chanced their arm, rode their luck and faltered towards the end but no matter how much we took the piss they got the runs and deserved their win. Skipper Tom Brook bowled his heart out for 25 overs but knows he should have changed things around earlier. A bad day at the office but I'm sure we'll bounce back.
